29 September to 1 October 2025 in Wernigerode
The year 2025 brings an important change for the GfT: the next Tribology Conference will take place from 29 September to 1 October 2025 for the first time in the Harz Mountains, at the HKK Hotel Wernigerode.
Another new feature is that each session will have a time slot of 30 minutes and a further 20 minutes.

- Cost reduction through tribology:
The presentations are intended to demonstrate the potential savings that can be achieved through the consistent application of tribological expertise in design and development as well as in the manufacturing processes of goods. - Interaction of additives with metal surfaces:
As in every year, presentations on lubricants and lubrication technology as well as machining and forming technology will take up a lot of space. In both areas, the interaction of additives with metal surfaces is of crucial importance. A dedicated session on this topic will be organised at the next symposium. Presentations on reaction layers, the mechanisms at work and the corresponding theories and models are expected.
